I look at it this way: I may not be able to go now, but later on when I do, it'll be after I can save enough money to really enjoy the trip, and to craft some new costumes along the way.
If I went now (money aside), I don't have any costumes I could wear or bring as they all need repair. (And if I went to a WorldCon, I'd want to participate in Masquerade!)

I was on the verge of canceling my reservations because of the cost, but then I got an unexpected raise.
