Yes, I really, truly am undecided. I am now 2/3 of the way through Dreams From My Father and though I bought it at a friend's recommendation in hopes it would push the empathy button and flip me over to his side, it has not done so. The man who wrote that book is seriously broken inside. We are talking major baggage here, not just the usual carry-on. While I have not read either of McCain's books (one is a memoir, the other is a Profiles in Courage wanna-be), I've read enough of his op ed and other writing to know he is also seriously broken inside.
Neither of them scares me. They both disappoint me.

Given the main alternative, it seems a trifle extreme, unless it's meant ironically. You could have used the ever-popular "sheep" analogy, if you just wanted to disparage people's ability to make a choice for themselves. "Robots" is good as well. "Dummies." "Chickens." The possibilities for abuse of one's fellow humans are endless.
From where I stand, Obama still represents the less obnoxious party, nationally speaking, and the campaign adverts he approves have not as far as I know descended to blatant, repeated and unapologetic lying. That seems to me to mark a significant difference. But of course, I'm only a lemming, so how would I know?

lemmings
What I saw during the campaign was a mindless rush to join the swarm. Sheep don't come from far and wide to rush headlong into the unknown. Note that I did not have my lemmings going over a cliff. The Pied Piper is also a close analogy, but it doesn't have the swarm image I was going for.
Obama still represents the less obnoxious party
Yes, absolutely.
repeated and unapologetic lying
Obama doesn't lie, he fails to mention things which might turn away voters. Had they known how Fundamental Christian his beliefs are before they went to the polls, I do not think he would have won. His stand against gay marriage and abortion was not made clear till after he had the votes to win.
