Just for grins I signed up for OKCupid yesterday and answered about 40 of their 37,685 personality questions. This morning email arrived, click on the link to get your matches.

We met BayCon before last at farmount's room party. I was very attracted to her, but It took maybe 6 nanoseconds to get the message that the feeling was not mutual.

So much for the OKCupid matching algorithm.

It is my impression that one has to answer several hundred of the match questions to get reasonable matches. I am very happy with duckflambe, whom I met through OKCupid.

Several hundred? I got up to 114 yesterday and tried matching again. And again. And again. There was one match out of 10 who actually seemed to be a match when I read her profile. The others all listed "musts" which I had listed as showstoppers, and vice versa. I am not impressed.

Maybe there's a match in the simple fact that two people would answer so effing many questions...
