This upsets me, because I know what a palindrome is, and it just doesn't make sense. Most things are not palindromes, but if Anna or Eve were to seek the services of Planned Parenthood, there could be palindromes involved. Go hang a salami, I'm a lasagna hog. Paganini: din in a gap. Busy Ella, stinky baby, knits alley sub. Tulsa night life: filth, gin, a slut. THOSE are palindromes.

I had trouble with this too, until I decided to justify it as the pun equivalent of a half-rhyme. It doesn't make it any prettier, but the alternative was to say Plain-drone and lose most of the groaner effect.
