A White Sports Coat and a Pink Crustacean
Jul. 26th, 2005 09:17 pmThe white suit absolutely floored the folks at work. To their credit, after a couple of seconds of "surprise, surprise" on their faces, the two students from Lacrosse, WI (who were wearing the usual jeans and casual/polo shirts) just took it in stride. You never know what you'll see in California, I guess. My co-workers were another story. During my break in my cubicle, they peeked over the wall like I was some zoo animal. I asked them to throw me some peanuts or a banana, but got nothing.
The day started with my semi-annual dental appointment, and though I was wearing just the white shirt/pants/shoes (no vest/tie/jacket), what they all noticed was how much weight I'd lost. The last time I saw them I had only dropped about 15 lbs, and now it's almost 50. The change from white to black hair and the goatee also probably played a part. But their response was amazing. And very flattering because they're all really cute themselves.

Yesterday after work I went to Ranch99 Market and bought a lobster, and boiled it while I was having dinner. Tonight I had lobster tail for dinner, but it wasn't till I started typing this entry that it occurred to me I had just lived the title of the first Jimmy Buffet album I'd ever bought: A White Sports Coat and and Pink Crustacean.
