I don't get it

The apartment is piled high with boxes. Most of my stuff is in those boxes. So why is the place still a mess?

Well, are the boxes nicely organized or just piled haphazardly all over the place? *grin* Because if they're piled everywhere, that probably explains the mess...

Nah, the boxes are stacked neatly. I think it's because the boxes are in the way so I can't vacuum, and also it's theater season again so I have a pile of flyers on the coffee table, along with the dozen or so remote controls which have not been packed yet. And i haven't touched the nightstand in the bedroom yet. There are things there which I probably haven't even seen in a year.

Funny you should mention this. Before I landed the Real Job, I was jokingly telling co-workers that I was collecting corrugated cardboard so I would have someplace to live while I was homeless.
