I counted George Benson as a friend, and am thrilled his name is on this project of his. George was a pharmacist who also served on the Seattle City Council. I knew him because he was also member of the Husky Marching Band Alumni Association (HMBAA), and we both played baritone horn together at almost every home football game at the University of Washington during the times I lived in Seattle. We also marched in several SeaFair Torchlight Parades in the same squad. He was always friendly and gracious, and a heck of a musician. George passed away in 2004 at the age of 85. I miss him.
