Today is/was Linus Pauling's birthday. He won the Nobel Peace Prize when it actually had some meaning. He had previously won the Nobel for chemistry. He's the first person to win two solo prizes. He would have been 109 ( he lived to be 93). If you take extra Vitamin C for cold, you have Pauling to thank for discovering and promoting that link.
