Bingo last night meant late dinner, late insulin and 6 am insulin reaction Hgl of 60. Treated it with Klondike bars, went back to bed but had to be up at 7:30. Low blood sugar in my case makes a short term insulin and sugar rush followed by huge sucking-the-life-out-of-you feeling.

Got to work, got some stuff done, had lunch at Round Table and about 4 was drained and feeling like if I didn't drive home now and take a nap I would not be safe to drive, so I went home and took a nap. Domino was all over me. I'm not sure if she knew I wasn't feeling well or if she was pissed I had not given her some treats.

Managed to actually sleep about an hour and a half, which was time to get up and do one little project online and go to rehearsals.

First music rehearsal, we pounded out my two solo numbers (one ends up as a duet) both of which are fast an tongue twisters. I'm closer now to being able to imagine actually doing this on stage without a script. But not quite there yet.

Coming home was an adventure because there is some mega-thing at the Hindu temple on the corner, they have almost zero parking, and they drive like they are in Mumbai. Took me 15 minutes to go the last two blocks. Police had a car parked at the beginning of the block, but were doing nothing to try to direct traffic. The temple had not done the neighborly thing of telling us about this big event, which won't be over till 6:30 tomorrow morning.

Home, the model from my last shoot asked my FB name so she could post one of my photos of her on her page. She posted it, but didn't tag. Not a problem because she posted one with my signature on it. It was a pose which they call "implied" which means from what you can see you may imply she is naked, but she may not be. In this case she was, and it would be pretty tough from that pose to argue she had anything on. But none of the censorable bits show.

Got Janice's new remote programmed, in time for her 70th b'day party Sunday.

Plans for tomorrow:
Depends on the weather. They are predicting horrendous winds and rain, and I may decide to WFH where we have underground wiring, culverts and are two feet above the ground.
Celebrate the end of Black History Month

So the latest news is I have been approved for mobile home park residency. And it seems I misunderstood, it was the owner who wanted to close escrow before Thanksgiving, so I said okay. I don't think I will actually move until December. Need to find movers. I frankly can't remember how the ones who moved me here were. The ones two moves ago broke stuff, left stuff behind and stole some DVDs.

And I sent the fax to have the downpayment funds wired from my broker to my CU. That will be combined with some funds in my CU savings and wired to the escrow people or whomever, when they ask for it. I am very nervous about spending half my non-taxable retirement assets.

Last night Kaan spent all but the last hour curled up next to my head. Domino spent some time parked by my feet, but not much. I had a low blood sugar episode at about 3 am, which totally blew my away because my pre-insulin reading was off the charts high and I had only upped my nighttime dosage by 4 units. And done without dessert. That would be 20 units of regular, not all that much for me. A Klondike bar got me normalized.

Today I got some work to do which will take a week. I hate it. I had hoped Sales Engineering had learned their lesson, but they have not, and I am stuck with testing something we shouldn't be sending to customers. Argh. On the bright side, I finally got my main machine back. Yay!

Which reminds me:
Yay rhymes with stay and is an indication of joy "Yippee!"
Yeah rhymes with pear and asserts agreement. "Yes!"

Just in case you may have been using "yeah" when you really meant "yay". The confusion: both can be used to cheer a happy occurance.

Lunchtime I picked up two packages at UPS. More of the Jockey shorts I had ordered a 3-pack of last week. Enough for 2 weeks. And the Original Broadway Cast of the musical Matilda because the girl who played Dorothy to my Cowardly Lion in Fremont, CA in 1986 is one of the leading players, Mrs. Wormwood. The two parts could not possibly be more different. The show starts with the doctor telling Mrs. Wormwood that she cannot possibly get on a plane this afternoon to compete in a ballroom dance competition, because she is in labor. She had no idea. Didn't know she was pregnant.

I have the original London cast recording, and was not impressed. This one is much better engineered, and from an audio standpoint is a joy to listen to. But the composer thinks he's Sondheim, and the only musicals music I like less than Sondheim is wanna-be Sondheim. So far I haven't found a tune, just a lot of clever patter. And a lot of time signature orgies. Like Carmina Burana, which seems to change time signatures every 5 bars. Only not as gracefully done.

The good news is Amazon refunded $8, which is the difference between the pre-order price and the release price.

On the way back to work is a Denny's. I tried to have lunch there but it was a bad decision. Awful waiter. What I ordered did not come with a salad, but he thought it did so he asked me what kind of dressing I wanted, and I told him. They have discontinued my favorite sides, so I got mac and cheese, and sweet corn.

It did not take overly long to get the food, but he slammed it down on the table, all at once, this huge salad in its own meal-sized bowl, the main course and corm and mac on a small plate, and a side plate with garlic bread which doesn't come with it and I didn't order. The corn was cold and not sweet. The mac was mac and Alfredo sauce. The main dish was fine. He didn't charge for the salad so he got a tip, but it was a close call.

Back at work, 1-on-1 with the boss, not much to talk about.

Home, caught up a bit on Tivo, two episodes of Elementary. The writing is getting better. So is the acting, all around. I can now tolerate the leading man. I will always have a problem with the WTF character names.

Plans for tomorrow:
Work
Thursday night football
Maybe Starbucks

And will be soon.

At 3:30 am I went low, Hgl of 71, self-medicated with mint chocolate chip ice cream while watching the first half of the last episode of Shark Tank. Those low sugar attacks really drain me. But I managed to stay awake at work, even was more talkative than usual at the team meeting.

Spent the day working on an automation script which started out dead simple but then I realized that if I was going to automate this test, I should do it from every possible angle, which is making it a very long script. Had to stop at 5, someone was playing with the network and all my ports disappeared.

Went for a haircut, then to Homeslobber Buffet, and while I was eating got a call from a manufactured home mfg rep, made an appointment to meet her and maybe even see a home or two, 6:30 pm Wednesday.

Called Kaiser hearing center, made an appointment for an evaluation and consult for 10/15. Was hoping for something sooner, but it's Kaiser. I already know what kind of hearing aid would help, but since they haven't tested me in more than 2 years, it needs a retest for their records.

Home, very tired, turned on the Church of Monday Night Football, and was please to see Drew Brees perform well. At first when I sat in the recliner I was feeling like I was not getting enough oxygen, but sitting up helped. Getting undressed and into bed half an hour helped more. Got dressed again, this time into a Denvention T-shirt, thinking of going to BASFA, but didn't feel up to it and just reclinered and footballed some more.  Eventually Kaan jumped up and splayed himself across the left arm of the chair, and soon fell into the area between my lap and the arm. He seemed to like it there so I left him till 7:45 when I got up, made dinner and returned with it.

Online, replied to mfg rep with the parks I'm interested in, her company has units made by them for sale in four of my 6 candidates.

Caught up on LJ and FB. [livejournal.com profile] johnnyeponymous declared that since they have shut down, he is the government, so I asked for and was granted the post of Secretary of Cheesecake.

Plans for tomorrow:
Work
Peninsulaires voice lessons

Started the day at Kaiser MV pharmacy, arguing with a pharmacist who could not see his way clear to saying that my current insulin syringes are better than the new ones he was "consulting" with me about, because his brain could not wrap around the concept that 46 units on a 100-unit, 1 ml syringe is equal to 0.46 units on a 1-unit, 1 ml syringe. An insulin unit is .1 ml. My new insulin 5x stronger than regular insulin, and instead of taking 230 units a day,  I'm supposed to take 0.46 ml. That's 46 units. The new syringes are meant for TB victims, and are much harder to read, and the needles are 4x longer. I'm using the old syringes.

At work I had a bowl of oatmeal at 10 and took my .46 ml dose at 10:30, and took Hgl readings roughly every hour, and they were way high, mid-200s for the most part, 157 was the low. I was not impressed with this new insulin.

Work was kind of slow. I started scoping out a suite of 3 test cases to automate, but discovered the automation team has not developed a crucial function which all three need, so I'm stuck.

I made reservations for a motel in Morro bay for Saturday-Tues last night. Today I reserved space on the 1 pm whale watching trips Sun and Mon. The plan is to take my time getting there Saturday (check-in is after 3 pm), and maybe go on a fishing charter Tuesday. Maybe not, though, because the fishing charters leave at the crack of OMG and they come back with cod. Either way, I will be stocking up on Dramamine.

Home, shot up the second dose of super insulin, this time a mere 32 units, had a light dinner, put a tube of glucose tablets in my pocket just in case, and went to band practice. At about 8 pm I needed to pop a tablet. Ate all three by the time we were done at 9:30, and really felt the impact of a low Hgl episode when I got home. 93 reading, which is just on this side of Human for me.

So I did some serious overkill, had a Klondike bar to level off, then made a banana smoothie, and finished up with a croissant. 247, yeah overdid that. We'll see what it reads in the morning. Or sooner if it goes low during the night.

Plans for tomorrow:
Work
Shopping for the trip
Also need more kitty litter, probably the Littermaid brand this time
And I need more glucose tablets. I'm down to about 5 at work. Of course at work I have a lot of other caloric options.
